....working on my 3rd Step. My sponser has asked me read the chapters on the third step out of The Green Book, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions and the part out of the The Big Blue book surrounding the 3rd step and the 3rd step prayer. He would then like me to take the 3rd step prayer and rewrite for myself. I did the readings last night and will do them several more times. I will also spend a bit of time on writing the prayer for myself. I want this to be a prayer that I can and will use daily. It does not have to be perfect. It won't be perfect. It will good for today and perhaps for many days to follow. But if I feel the need to change it I will. My Higher Power is an accepting Power and allows me to change.
The 3rd step Prayer out of The Big Blue Book is as follows:
"God, I offer myself to Thee--to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always!"
